Welcome to “Meet the Squad” where you get a behind-the-scenes look at the team that brings the most realistic tactical laser tag experience to life!
Name: Brandon Mijokovic
Position: Vice President of Operations
Barracks Player Name: mijmijmij
How long have you worked at iCOMBAT?
I’ve been at iCOMBAT Equipment for just over 5 years.
What does your day-to-day look like?
My day-to-day is always different. I work with our entire team on iCOMBAT laser tag software development, client support, internal marketing, and all aspects of our laser tag field operations.
What does the process look like with creating, building, or implementing changes in iCOMBAT equipment or software?
We try to put ourselves in the mindset of the user, which could be the field operator or the player depending on the product. To determine what and how to build it, we often draw from our experiences of running our own locations, speaking with iCombat clients, and of course video games.
Is player feedback important to iCOMBAT and if so, why/how is it used?
Player feedback is very important to me, I stay in touch with a handful of regulars who play at our locations. In addition, we read over ALL comments from our survey system and use them to make operational improvements, modifications to software/equipment, and improve our staff. Providing a great experience is important to our team.
What parts of your job do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy improving the experience, which I most often get to do through software. I don’t write code as much as I used to, but I still, enjoy updating ICE and Barracks when I get the chance.
What makes iCOMBAT equipment the best?
We make gear for all operators Tactical, Traditional, and Mobile. The equipment is awesome to hold and play with but I think the software is what makes it best. Every hit, kill, respawn is stored on the Barracks so we can track a ton of different stats and in the future, we can add new ones since we have the data.
How often do you get on the iCOMBAT fields?
I play about once a month, I used to play much more when I worked out of the iCombat Waukesha location.
What’s your go-to-strategy for an iCOMBAT mission?
Teamwork is the best strategy for objective missions. 5 average players who can play as a team can beat 5 great players who don’t.
What do you most enjoy about working for iCOMBAT?
Seeing products that I had a hand in creating used and enjoyed by many. I also enjoy meeting interesting people from around the world, who are as passionate about laser tag as I am!
What’s something most people wouldn’t guess about you?
I am very outgoing and social, as a software engineer, I often fight this stereotype! I am also very competitive.
